Phlock Eyes New Market
Phlock, a security company which has also been described as a mass surveillance company, is reportedly looking to enter Yarye planet in Universe 4 after securing contracts in other regions.
The company is now looking to collaborate with Zuramp government, which apparently wants to take citizen monitoring to a completely different level.
Sources suggest that the government wants to build a system capable of profiling citizens based on skin colour, race, income group, occupation and almost every other piece of personal information available.
Our journalists asked why the government needed so much information about ordinary citizens. One official explained that the government wanted to understand its population better.
Some citizens specifically chuds have supported this move and have told that this could help people and society a lot on per capita basis.
When asked whether the government already knew who lived on its own planet, the official said that the existing records were not detailed enough.
Every Citizen Is Now a Spreadsheet
Under the proposed collaboration, Phlock could help Zuramp government develop surveillance infrastructure to collect and organise information about citizens across Yarye.
The system is reportedly expected to categorise people by their financial status, employment, background and other personal details, allowing officials to study the population in unprecedented detail.
One government employee told our crew that the administration wanted to make sure no citizen went unnoticed and can be punished better if they belong to certain group.
Our journalists asked whether this included people who were simply sitting at home doing nothing.
The employee confirmed that such people would also be monitored because the government needed to know why they were not contributing anything to the economy and perhaps it becomes easier for govt to eliminated people based on per capita basis .
Another official reportedly suggested that citizens could eventually be assigned a profile showing their income, occupation, background, daily activities and general usefulness to the state.
Our crew asked whether the government would also track how much time people spent sleeping.
The official said that the proposal was still under consideration.
Security or Government Overreach?
Supporters of the proposed partnership argue that surveillance could help Zuramp government improve security and identify potential threats.
However, critics are concerned that collecting information based on race, skin colour, income and occupation could lead to discrimination, misuse of personal data and excessive government control.
One resident told our journalists that he had nothing to hide.
He later became concerned after learning that the proposed system could potentially know more about him than he knew about himself.
Another resident said he was happy to cooperate with the government as long as officials did not inspect his refrigerator.
The government has not clarified whether refrigerator inspections would be included in the proposed agreement.
Zuramp Wants Complete Visibility
Phlock is reportedly continuing to explore opportunities in Yarye, while the full details of its potential collaboration with Zuramp government remain unclear.
The government has not confirmed the final scope of the proposed surveillance system or what safeguards would prevent the technology from being misused.
One official reportedly assured citizens that the system would only be used for legitimate purposes.
Our journalists asked who would decide what counted as legitimate.
The official responded that the government would decide.
For now, citizens of Yarye can continue living their normal lives while Zuramp government explores new ways to know absolutely everything about them.
Our crew has also been informed that the government is interested in obtaining our interview recordings.
We have decided to delete nothing, publish everything and temporarily stop using public Wi-Fi.
